Parikesit is the next generation king of Astina after Puntadewa-his grandfather-.
Parikesit is a son of Abimanyu with dewi Utari a son of Prabhu Matswapati with dewi Yustinawati from the Wiratha kingdom.
Because his father ( Abimanyu ) dead in bharatayudha so he is an orphan. And after king Puntadewa dead, he become a king in Astina.
