Gunungan is the most important in the wayangkulit show when it is played because of that gunungan meant something 'talk' deeply as cultural-spiritual languages descripted about discipline and regardless of human communication to God , human and human and human to universe.

Gunungan is the one character that have several variaties. They are gunungan as 'triumphal arch' of kingdom of wayangkulit , gunungan as the forest , gunungan as the 'suryalaya'(the divine's universe )'s triumphal arch , and the last gunungan as the 'padepokan' ( the guru's home ) and the 'kasatriyan'(the lord's home ).
